Police officers chased a car for 50 km before they managed to arrest the driver and his companion on Hemus Highway, BNR reports.

Shortly before 8:00 this morning, a signal was received about a risky driver on the road, which creates a real prerequisite for an accident. Around 14:00, the car was seen by police officers in the village of Stozher. The uniformed officers managed to stop it for inspection after a sound and light signal. The driver took a reverse maneuver and hit the patrol car, then headed towards Varna. The car was followed by the uniformed officers, and assistance was subsequently sought from their colleagues in the Varna police.
The teams involved in the pursuit managed to surround the car and stop it after nearly 50 km, at the exit for the village of Povelyanovo on the "Hemus" highway.
The two men have been detained. The reason for their escape attempt has not yet been established.
