„A few minutes after I heard the statement of the President of the Constitutional Court (CS) – Judge Pavlina Panov, I wrote that in practice she was talking about a coup, which blocks the work of the court. When it comes to elections and election results, the Constitutional Court is the highest authority in the state“.
This was commented on in the program „Face to Face“ on bTV by Velislav Velichkov from the initiative „Justice for Everyone“.
„In principle, only the Constitutional Court can interpret the Constitution. When the Constitutional Court has made a decision and has a deadline to announce the results of what happened, for someone to send the documents to another body, and for that other body to request them and initiate a preliminary investigation is, to put it mildly, “scandalous”, the lawyer also pointed out.
“I was left with the impression that the prosecutor's office will determine the final election results, not the Constitutional Court“, he says.
“What shocks me is that they want the Constitutional Court to tell what the constitutional judges discussed with the experts. There are concepts such as the secrecy of the meeting. If it is so important that they be taught by the prosecutor's office, perhaps we would like to find out what the prosecutor's office is doing in its closed offices, but it is not happening," commented BNR journalist Silvia Velikova.
„Here the prosecutor's office was not active in the case, but the „Information Service“, which provokes even more questions“, she added, noting that this is a body with technical tasks.
„It would be good for the state prosecution to come out of anonymity and explain what is happening“, said Silvia Velikova.
"When it comes to electoral fraud and falsification of electoral papers, it is a crime. It is worrying when ballots disappear“, commented sociologist Stoycho Stoychev.
