BSP introduces changes to the Criminal Code in relation to animal abuse, BNT reported.
The reason is the case from Pernik. The left points out that they cannot tolerate any forms of violence. BSP called on all parties to support them.
Gabriel Valkov, "BSP - United Left", chairman of the committee on youth and sports: "The case is quite serious for another reason as well. Quite often, such cases escalate into violence against people. That is why we have planned to double the sentences in extremely serious cases like the one in Pernik - to increase from 5 to 10 years in prison. Also, the fines should be increased from 10,000 to 25,000 leva, because such a form of violence cannot be tolerated. Over 100,000 signatures have already been collected on the subject. We have envisaged changes in the law to include changes for recording and selling records".
