Bulgaria and North Macedonia are in mourning for the young people who died in the fire in Kochani. Our pain for the loss of innocent lives is common and our hope for a speedy recovery of the injured is common. This was stated by President Rumen Radev, who signed the book of condolences at the Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia.
He thanked the Bulgarian medical teams and military personnel for the quick response and professionalism in transporting the injured and for the specialized medical care provided.
„Bulgaria is ready and will continue to help with everything that is necessary. We expect the Macedonian side to decide at around 10:30 am whether there is a need to take 10 more people. „Spartan“ and the medical teams are ready. We will continue to provide assistance“, Radev added.
According to the president, this tragedy shows that people on both sides of the border must rely on each other.
“We must rely on each other, but not only in days of trial, but in the name of our common European future“, the head of state concluded.
