The Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) is organizing a protest near the National Assembly building, the CITUB press center announced.
The action is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. It is under the title “We want a visible increase in wages with Budget 2025“. The union is demanding an increase in wages in sectors that are underfunded, as well as in which pay disparities are increasing, dariknews.bg specified.
The union is calling for an additional 250 million leva to be provided. in the budget for this year, which will allow for an increase in salaries in the National Social Security Institute, the Social Assistance Agency, the Employment Agency, the National Revenue Agency, the Nuclear Regulatory Agency, the National Health Insurance Fund, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Environment and Water, the Bulgarian State Railways. Among the listed sectors are also school and child health care, urban transport in Sofia and in the country, structures at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the Road Infrastructure Agency, the Bulgarian Post Office, etc. The Confederation of Bulgarian Trade Unions (CITUB) notes the need for an increase in salaries in the Bulgarian National Radio, Bulgarian National Television, and Bulgarian Broadcasting Corporation (BNT).
The union commented that the projected increase in salaries in the listed sectors in the draft budget is imperceptible, which is why the confederation will give magnifying glasses to the members of parliament before the start of the consideration of the budget plan in the plenary hall at second reading.
This morning, the deputies began the discussion of the second reading of the Draft Law on the State Social Insurance (SSI) Budget. It is also planned to consider the Draft Law on the NHIF Budget for 2025. The second reading of the Draft Law on the State Budget of the Republic of Bulgaria for 2025 is also included in the already adopted weekly program.
