After the month of mutual assistance and sharing, today we welcome the holiday of sharing Ramadan Bayram, the Chief Mufti of Muslims in Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Haji told BTA. Ramadan Bayram, which lasts three days, is the culmination of sharing, he said.
According to him, on the day of Bayram, all people eat and celebrate together. In many places, the holiday is celebrated, with young people gathering in the square and having fun. In places in the country, people who are not Muslims participate in the festivities and celebrations. These people have lived together all their lives and that is why they celebrate together. This is a source of pride for us, commented the chief mufti.
During the month of Ramadan, Muslims, in addition to depriving themselves of food during the day and sleep at night, made efforts to help those people who need help, he also said.
Parting with this month is not easy, but in the end, Muslims have been spiritually charged and this charge will keep them “alive” until the next month of Ramadan, Haji pointed out.
He also said that the Ramadan Bayram holiday begins with a prayer that is specific to this day. It is in the mosque, it cannot be done independently. After the prayer, Muslims congratulate each other for having performed the worship (worship) and their obligations to Allah have reached Bayram.
On this day, everyone tries to do something good, to please someone, to try to make someone's heart happy, and very importantly - everyone tries to visit their loved ones and relatives, especially their parents, if they are alive. And if they are not alive, they visit their graves and pray for them, said the chief mufti.
On the occasion of the Ramadan Bayram holiday, he wished for peace in the world and especially in Bulgaria. Islam comes from the Arabic word “selaam“, which means peace. Peace is an issue that concerns every human being and in the Quran Allah says: “Whoever saves one human life, it is as if he has saved all of humanity. Whoever kills one person is as if he has killed all of humanity“, the Grand Mufti pointed out.
So peace is the most important thing and I wish that soon in all regions where there are wars, including in Palestine, in Ukraine, these problems will be resolved and people everywhere will live peacefully and calmly, and at the same time every person will have the opportunity to live peacefully and calmly in their homeland, he added. "In Bulgaria, we are an oasis among all the problems that exist in the world, and I ask the Almighty to give us the opportunity to continue to live peacefully and calmly, so that this is not disturbed until mutual relations", continued Haji.
There is a place for everyone under the sun, but it is necessary for everyone to try to be kind to others. Because when everyone fulfills their obligations, there will be no need to seek their rights, said the Chief Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadji.
During the month of Ramadan, between 300-350 people gathered at the Sofia "Banya Bashi" mosque every evening for the traditional iftar dinner.
Fasting is a favorable time for gaining spiritual virtues and a universal means for educating the human soul. This was emphasized in an interview with BTA by Dilyan Tsvetkov - butler, parish priest and archpriest at the temple "St. Prophet Elijah" in the capital's "Knyazhevo" district, and the chairman of the Supreme Muslim Council (SMC) of the Muslim denomination Vedat Ahmed.
