To the Chairman of the Board of Directors of RIA,
I am Diana Rusinova, Chairman of the non-governmental organization European Center for Transport Policies. Today I am writing to you not just as someone involved in the problems on our roads, but as someone disgusted to the core of my soul by your callousness.
A 12-year-old child died. Swept by a semi-trailer on a road that you were personally warned about.
TWICE this summer we alerted you to dangers on the road surface for the I-3 road between Radomirtsi and Telish - holes, bumps, poor-quality repairs, lack of adequate maintenance.
Both times you replied that you would replace the markings. Markings?!
This post was published on her Facebook page by Diana Rusinova, the chairwoman of the European Transport Policy Center, after last night's accident between a truck and a car on the Lukovit-Pleven road, in which a 12-year-old child died. Here are more of Rusinova's words:
Who are you lying to? Yourself? Us? The parents who are now burying their child?
The markings had not been repaired last night when I visited the site.
This child could have been alive.
But he is not. Because you didn't do your job.
This is the result of your carelessness. Of your incompetence. Of your arrogance.
Aren't you ashamed?!
Don't you feel guilty?!
Or are you used to blood on the roads? With hundreds of corpses a year?
I insist on your immediate resignation.
For the resignation of the entire RIA Management Board.
This time it's YOUR fault.
And this time there will be consequences.
