Pavel Georgiev, “Unruly Bulgaria”: Over 70% of young people in the country are inclined to emigrate! - 1

Only a few days ago, the data from a study by the “Friedrich Ebert” Foundation was released, which thoroughly researches the attitudes and values of youth in Bulgaria.

According to the study, over 70% of young people in the country are inclined to emigrate.

This is recalled on social networks by Pavel Georgiev from “Unruly Bulgaria“.

This is not just a worrying signal - it is an alarm. For those in power, for institutions, for the entire society. It is high time to react with defiance, if not to solve the problem, then at least to slow it down.

Without active young people, the country has no future. Youth is not just a resource - it is the engine of the economy, stability and development of a nation.

Again, according to data from the same study - it turns out that a significant share of young people in Bulgaria (19%) consider dictatorship as a more acceptable form of government than democracy. Against this background and with the ongoing collapse in trust in institutions, the blow to the parliamentary republic is direct. And the question for all of us is clear:

Are we managing to build stable bridges between generations?

In recent years, ministries have been created with questionable usefulness - of effective management, growth and innovation and what not. And youth? It has been cornered by the sports ministry. The reality is that young people in Bulgaria don't just need gyms and playgrounds. They also need support for their personal development, incentives during their education and subsequent realization (so that they can choose to stay here rather than emigrate after graduation). They also need psychological support in the prevention and fight against addictions, a stable environment for their socialization, as well as to encourage their hobbies, interests and effective use of free time.

Therefore, instead of unnecessary departments, one of the key decisions at the state level is precisely the creation of a separate ministry that would set youth and policies related to it as its sole priority (as is the case in Italy, Great Britain, Norway, Spain and other European countries).

Otherwise, we witness (as recently) outbreaks of violence and hooliganism, the perpetrators of which are mainly minors.

Our society has an escalating social problem with aggression and this is due precisely to the total abdication and years of inaction on the part of the state in terms of building policies with a focus on youth.

Now more than ever, it is time for politicians to understand that The future is not built with slogans, but with long-term and consistent actions aimed at the generations ahead. To build this successful, social model of behavior that will make young people stay and fight for their country - with disobedience and civic spirit.
