A partial state of emergency for a period of 7 days was declared in Varna due to the pollution of the seashore with fuel oil.
The goal is to deal with the consequences of the spill more quickly and to provide funds from the state for the necessary activities.
At the same time, the investigation of the incident by the Maritime Administration continues, BTV reported.
The cleaning of the beach continued today with heavy equipment. The total amount of fuel oil is between half and one ton.
"The unofficial results we received for yesterday's samples show the presence of petroleum products. "Based on this indicator, we confirm the pollution in the sea," commented Yavor Dimitrov, director of the Black Sea Region Database.
Svilena Velcheva, an environmental activist from Varna, is following the situation with concern.
"Not only from the point of view of biodiversity and the ecosystem and the health of the people who are part of this ecosystem, but it is worrying that this is happening just before the start of the tourist season," she says.
Six of the nine ships considered potential polluters have already been inspected.

The boat surveys of the Varna Bay, carried out today, did not establish the presence of new stains in the sea.
