The government is extending the program for humanitarian assistance to displaced persons from Ukraine with temporary protection in Bulgaria by one month. This was decided by the Council of Ministers, with the aim of ensuring support for Ukrainian citizens in need until a new, more sustainable program is established.
During this additional month, the assistance will continue, but under differentiated conditions according to the type of accommodation. At the same time, the institutions will finalize a new support mechanism that will focus on the integration of refugees into the social and economic life of the country.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Interior will participate in the development of the new program.
In addition, international and non-governmental organizations will be involved, which will provide legal, social and psychological support.
Details of the new program will be announced after its final approval by the Council of Ministers.
