The Sofia district heating company wants a significant increase in the price of heating and hot water in Sofia. The company has submitted a proposal to the EWRC on July 1 to raise the price by nearly 24% to 158.80 leva per mwh. The reason for the increase is that from July 1, 2024, consumers pay 128.25 leva per mwh, and the price has not changed despite the significant increase in the price of natural gas.
The forecasts for gas prices for the new regulatory period were also higher.
The district heating company also indicates that the costs of repair and maintenance of the network and facilities will increase. Last year, the EWRC reduced the recognized amount of technological costs, revealed "24 Chasa".
However, the record holders for proposed price increases are the district heating companies in Vratsa and Veliko Tarnovo. The first company wants the price to jump from July 1 by 66%, while in Tarnovo the proposal is for an increase by as much as 92%.
Apart from these two companies, significant changes in the price of heating and hot water are not expected.
“Toplofikatsiya Pleven” has proposed a price increase of 3.25% to 92.96 leva/mwh. In Ruse and Burgas the price is maintained. For Varna, a 3.3% price reduction is proposed from July 1. The largest reduction is for Sliven - by nearly 10-11 percent. Some applications have hidden prices, replaced with three "x", although some district heating companies have announced their price proposals on their websites or published them in local newspapers.
The KEWR has also submitted proposals for new electricity prices from July. However, the specific tariffs are hidden and it is not clear what increase is being proposed. The proposed new prices are yet to be discussed by the KEWR, and the commission must approve them by July 1.
