Zhelyazkov: The government will remain intolerant of all manifestations of corruption - 1

The government will remain intolerant of all manifestations of corruption, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov said from the parliamentary rostrum in response to a question from Lena Borislavova from the PP-DB.

The development comes after the civil association "Boets" distributed photos of chats, which they claim are between part of the leadership of the GDBOP and field employees in Plovdiv. The signal claims that on November 19, 2024, the police tried to check a car that was known to them in connection with cigarette smuggling, but they were ordered to immediately withdraw. There is also talk of a possible "umbrella" over the smuggling channel by Kalin Litov, appointed by former Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov. Meanwhile, as of yesterday, Kalin Litov is no longer deputy director of the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime. He has been reassigned to another position outside the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime, Interior Minister Daniel Mitov announced.

"Enough information was provided by Minister Mitov. But these are questions for the Ministry of Interior. There is one part of the information that is classified, another is subject to investigative secrecy and should be made public to the extent permitted by the prosecutor's office. Actions have been taken by the executive branch, both by the Interior Ministry Inspectorate and by Internal Security at the Ministry of Interior. We have a suspended deputy director of the Directorate of Transport, a suspended head of a sector, and a head of a department who is also currently not on duty," Prime Minister Zhelyazkov pointed out.

The regular plenary session of the National Assembly began with a blitz control at 9:00 a.m. Current oral questions from members of parliament will be answered by the Prime Minister, as well as Deputy Prime Ministers Tomislav Donchev, Atanas Zafirov, and Grozdan Karadzhov.

A regular parliamentary control is also planned, in which questions from members of parliament will be answered by: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Grozdan Karadzhov, as well as ministers Miroslav Borshosh, Ivan Ivanov, Borislav Gutsanov, Atanas Zapryanov, Krasimir Valchev, Silvi Kirilov, Marian Bachev, Georgi Tahov, Manol Genov, Petar Dilov, Temenuzhka Petkova, and Daniel Mitov.
