It is terrible what is happening right now. I could not give a clear assessment of what is happening - who is completely right. But for two people who have worked together to exchange such serious accusations undermines trust in the system as a whole.

This is what Tsvetlin Yovchev said regarding the accusations against Ivan Demerdzhiev - the former acting Minister of Internal Affairs, in the morning block of bTV, quoted by "Focus".

The system should have mechanisms to detect this problem and find its solution, without it being made public and damaging the authority of the ministry, explained Yovchev, who is a former Minister of Internal Affairs.

An extremely serious political war is being waged. And as a result, all kinds of tools are being used, including to expose certain information, said Yovchev regarding the fact that the National Assembly refused to listen to the Plovdiv police officers.

A hearing should be held, but in my opinion it should be in a closed session, he added. And he explained: Because classified information can be shared there, as well as things that could hinder the investigation.

"There are a number of organizations and bodies that have a legal obligation to fight corruption. We have the KPKONPI, which has exactly such a profile. There is such a directorate in the General Directorate of Corruption Prevention and Control, as well as inspectorates in the relevant departments, which also have such functions.

We must say that the level of corruption in a country should not be assessed by the convictions of persons in the highest echelons of power. This is a wrong criterion. The feeling in society is also a criterion that is not authoritative," explained Yovchev.
