Political scientist on the new vote of no confidence: An attempt at oppositional behavior - 1

The second vote of no confidence submitted by MECH against the government "Zhelyazkov" is an attempt by the submitters to show oppositional behavior, which is typical of anti-system parties. This opinion was expressed in "Denyat na Zievo" on NOVA NEWS by political scientist Assoc. Prof. Milen Lyubenov. He noted that after "Velichye" entered parliament, MECH and "Vazrazhdane" have the necessary 48 votes to initiate such votes.

According to him, this does not prevent the adoption of anti-corruption laws, because it is a game in the hands of the ruling party. These laws are an issue that a third parliament has not resolved, said Lyubenov, adding that the reasons for the vote of no confidence include a series of topics and cases from two years ago. The political scientist believes that they should have focused on a specific topic - the situation in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and possible patronage of smuggling channels.

“The center of the vote will shift because of “Botas”. Perhaps this is intentional. Even then, it was clear that the treaty was damaging the Bulgarian state. If there is a possibility of renegotiation, let's hold talks with Turkey. The rulers will take advantage of this to shift the fire to the president,” believes Assoc. Prof. Lyubenov.

Regarding the attacks between Boyko Borisov and Rumen Radev, the political scientist said that they are not something new, but they were quieter when Kiril Petkov's government was in power. Lyubenov noted that the president actively participated in the overthrow of the cabinet at that time. According to him, Borisov will not run for president because there are risks for him in a majority vote and a possible failure could remove him from politics.

Regarding the tragic death on the road of 12-year-old Siyana, the political scientist was categorical that in yet another case the authorities react in the same way. “We need to be systematic and analyze the causes and only then proceed with any changes. We see spontaneity and playing out the situation. It is obvious that there is a problem in the road section and here we are once again bringing to the forefront the topic of corruption - the prosecutor's office does not pay attention, cases like this sink there and there are no charges”, is the political scientist's opinion.
