VMZ-Sopot will categorically not be privatized. This is clear from a written response by the Minister of Economy and Industry Petar Dilov to a question posed by the MP from the "BSP-United Left" Galin Durev, FOCUS reported.
The reason for the inquiry is the opinions expressed in the media that "Vazovskite Machine-Building Plants" can and should be privatized.
In his response, the Minister of Economy indicated that VMZ-Sopot is included in the "prohibition list" for privatization, which means that in order to be denationalized, there must be a decision of the National Assembly upon a proposal from the Council of Ministers.
Petar Dilov points out that the state's plans for the enterprise include the integration of its production and intellectual potential for the development of the European Defense Fund, as well as active participation in the modernization plans of the Bulgarian Army.
