Easter, along with the Resurrection of Christ, are the two holidays during which churches are most visited. Queues of laypeople form from early dawn until late in the evening. It is a tradition for every Christian to go to church and light a candle.

Shortly before 5:00 PM, however, only one of the four cash registers of the largest temple in our country - the Patriarchal Cathedral “St. Alexander Nevsky“, was working, a reporter from FAKTI saw. Even before the question “Why is only one cash register working?“ was asked, the employee said that she had to close in five minutes because she was alone and obviously tired. The explanation for why only one cashier is working at this hour is that “the other employees worked in the morning“.

“St. Alexander Nevsky“ is a place that is visited during the holidays not only by Sofia residents, but also by many foreign tourists, as it is one of the main symbols of the capital. The creation of queues, due to lack of staff, leads to an artificial crowding of more people and definitely slows down the entire pilgrimage process.
