The Transport Committee in Parliament will meet to unite the five bills adopted at first reading for amendments to the Road Traffic Act. Reducing speed, increasing penalties and reducing the administrative burden - these are the three main measures that the changes envisage.
The deputies adopted at first reading five of the six bills submitted for consideration for amendments to the Road Traffic Act. The project submitted by "Vazrazhdane", which envisaged achieving faster realization of the confiscated motor vehicles in favor of the state by selling them at a public auction or by providing them to budget organizations, was rejected.
The rules related to pedestrians are also being supplemented. Specific obligations for road owners are being introduced. It is also planned to introduce average speed control, for which purpose the toll system has already been experimentally included and violators were immediately registered who were driving on the Northern Speedway of Sofia at over 200 km/h.
