“It has become clear to the entire Bulgarian society that the government of GERB and Peevski, supported by their crutches BSP and ITN, will not lead any fight against corruption at the high levels of the executive branch in its three directions - prevention against the manifestation of corruption in the ministries, checks for the presence of corruption mechanisms and signaling of corruption cases and sanctioning corruption cases with measures for its subsequent non-appearance”, said from the rostrum of the National Assembly Petar Petrov, on the occasion of the debates on the submitted vote of no confidence in the cabinet of Borisov and Peevski.
Petrov emphasized that nothing is being done by the government regarding the prevention and absorption of state and public funds in corrupt public procurement. There are huge corruption mechanisms with public procurement in the various ministries. As examples, Petrov pointed to the MRDPW and the money for emergency, current, partial and major repairs of republican and municipal roads, subsidized by the budget's capital program, which are sinking into companies close to GERB and DPS Novo nachlaso.
“The same is happening with the MoEW and the continued patronage of the corruption scheme for 80 million leva per year, collected from the mandatory ecotaxes upon vehicle registration and through fictitious dismantling of cars. The NRA and the Customs Agency patronize through corruption mechanisms and tax evasion on a large scale and are inactive regarding VAT fraud. The Ministry of Health allocates 4 billion leva. for hospital care, and it is clear that the majority will sink into false clinical pathways, public procurement, equipment and medicines of the right companies around GERB and DPS Novo nachalo”, emphasized Petrov.
The situation in the Ministry of Interior is no different in terms of corruption, which continues to patronize smuggling and the distribution of drugs and there are no checks for a mass investigation of the controlled and bought vote carried out in the last elections. The Minister of Interior also owes an answer to the question - is Peevski being guarded by a group of Berets, because such a thing can happen only by his order.
“The government did nothing regarding the bills to fight corruption. We from “Vazrazhdane” on the first day of this Parliament submitted a Bill for Amendments to the Anti-Corruption Act. It proposes to create conditions that would allow for real checks on corruption and monitoring of the standard of living and behavior of persons holding high-ranking government positions, including up to 5 years after they leave them. It is publicly known that when high-ranking politicians leave their posts, they then demonstrate a much higher standard of living. For all these reasons, the resignation of this government is extremely necessary”, Petrov also said.
