The Labor Inspectorate in Haskovo is investigating an occupational accident that killed a 19-year-old worker, who occurred while laying a route with high-voltage cables, the institution announced.
The accident occurred last Sunday, April 13 in Haskovo. He and his father were at the installation work.
The cables had to be stretched between three poles with a traction machine. During the stretching itself, the young man fell within the reach of the cable and was hit by it.
"It was established that the deceased and his father worked for the contractor without employment contracts. My personal view is that the day for carrying out activities - Sunday - was not chosen by chance, given the work without an employment contract - to avoid inspection by the control bodies", commented the director of the "Labor Inspection" Directorate Kircho Kirev.
"Since the beginning of the year, 1054 cases of work without an employment contract have been identified in our country," he pointed out.
