Vasil Terziev to "Save Sofia": People expect actions that will improve their lives, not political demonstrations - 1

I respect the right of every political force to express its positions and follow the path it considers correct. The decision of "Save Sofia" to withdraw from the governing coalition is their choice, but also a serious responsibility to the people of Sofia - because citizens expect not conflicts, but results. They expect actions that will actually improve their lives, not political demonstrations.

This was posted on his Facebook page by Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev after the decision of "Save Sofia" announced earlier today that they are withdrawing their political trust from him and leaving the coalition with PP-DB. Here are more of Terziev's words:

I was elected with a clear mandate – to bring long-term change in the way Sofia is governed. This includes:
1. more transparency and accountability in the work of the administration
2. reform of the public procurement process and more efficient use of public funds
focus on neighborhoods and people's daily problems
3. modernization of the city's infrastructure
4. development of sustainable and accessible public transport
5. and last but not least – cleaner, greener and tidier Sofia
This change cannot happen with populism and sharp turns, but with consistency, resilience and patience. Sofia does not change with loud words at press conferences, but with daily, difficult, sometimes invisible, but meaningful work.
There are already concrete results that we can be proud of. We will explain them again in the coming days.
I understand that the pace does not always meet expectations. I myself would also like many things to happen faster. But let's not forget – the problems we are trying to solve have been accumulating for more than 20 years. And they cannot be removed in one year with a magic wand. We do not have a majority in the SOS. That is why we are approaching it responsibly – without promising the impossible, but by planning, acting and being responsible.
I believe that with dialogue, reason and will we can work together with all who want real change - regardless of whether they are part of a coalition or not. Sofia needs a partnership, not a political criticism competition.

And let's not forget - both the citizens and history will judge who really works for the interests of the city and who serves economic or party dependencies. This will be most evident in every vote in the Sofia Municipal Council - on the budget, on investments in the neighborhoods, on the topics of redevelopment, transport, cleanliness and social services.
I call on citizens to follow these votes carefully. There you can see who really protects the public interest and who just talks about it.
