The Albanian Ministry of Tourism is changing its strategy: instead of villa villages, it is building hotel complexes. This will double the capacity, improve service and attract even more tourists. The plans are for the country to increase its capacity to 72 million overnight stays per year by 2030, compared to the current 30 million, and for accommodation places to increase from 270,000 to 477,000 by 2030.
The hospitality and tourism sector in Albania is leading the demand for loans. In 2024, the volume increased by 25%. The hotel business is actively developing, new facilities will be built.
The global trend is branded hotel complexes. These are resorts managed by well-known hotel chains (Wyndham, Marriott, etc.), where investors can buy rooms or apartments and receive income. In Georgia and Thailand, this format is already giving excellent results – it seems Albania will not be left out.
