The case against businessman Vasil Bozhkov continues with the questioning of witnesses. In order to interrogate more than 20 people, including two victims - Boyan and Tsvetomir Naydenov, the Sofia City Court will sit on three consecutive days.
The businessman is a defendant in an investigation into an organized criminal group for extortion, official and corruption crimes.
Bozhkov was brought to court as an instigator in complicity with officials from the State Gambling Commission, who allowed fees due under the Gambling Act not to be collected in full. As a result of the criminal activity, as much lower fees were collected, damages were caused to the state budget in the amount of BGN 559,739,164.70.
At the beginning of the court session, the court dismissed the case against Boris Bekyarov, who died.
