Fines worth over 17 thousand leva have been issued to a driver from Sliven for systematic violation of the Road Traffic Act. He has 45 speeding violations, and his driver's license has been revoked several times since 2001, announced Commissioner Dimitar Kikyov, head of the "Security Police".
His license was revoked three times in total, and in one of the cases he presented a foreign driver's license. Now a new revocation is pending, with the last order for this being from December 18, said Commissioner Kikyov and explained the mechanism by which the problematic driver returns to the road legally.
"The problem is that after six months, after his license has been revoked and he has paid all the fines, he can take the exam again and acquire legal capacity."
From 2009 to the present, he has been fined with a ticket worth 17,275 leva.
"He has paid 8,300 leva. He still has 8,900 leva to pay. Like these 8,900 are from 2022 to the present."
The police did not name the problematic driver by name, but they urged drivers to once again inform themselves when and for what violations their checkpoints are taken away. For the time in which the driver in question was driving his car, a total of 168 points were taken away.
