Four men have been detained in the capital by officers of the State Department of Internal Affairs as part of an operation against drug trafficking.
Officers of the Fourth Regional Police Department have detained a 29-year-old man from Pernik for possession of drugs.
This was announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During procedural and investigative actions carried out in an apartment rented by him, a polyethylene bag containing a dry herbaceous mass, a bag with 107 tablets, different in color and shape, a polyethylene bag with a white powdery substance and an electronic scale were found and seized. The 29-year-old was detained. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case under Art. 354 a of the Criminal Code. After a report of the materials to the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office, the man was charged and a preventive measure of "detention in custody" was imposed on him for a period of up to 72 hours.
Hours later, officers of the Third Police Department detained a 45-year-old man for possession of drugs. During procedural and investigative actions carried out at an address in the area of the Women's Market, about 20 grams of crystals, 120 doses of methamphetamine, 2 grams of herbal mass, two spacebacks with blue pills, a precursor for the production of methamphetamine, 4 electronic cigarettes of the vape type and 6 vape cartridges were found and seized. The man was detained for a period of up to 24 hours. The materials on the case were reported to the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office and charges were filed under Art. 354 a of the Criminal Code.
Two young men, aged 19 and 20, were detained in the Seventh District during the operation. During a search of an address used by them, 86 bags of cannabis, 49 bags of lumpy and powdered substances (amphetamine and cocaine), 9 bags of crystals and 29 ecstasy tablets were found in a cupboard and a bag. A fast-track proceeding has been initiated under Art. 354 a of the Criminal Code. After a report of the materials at the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office, the measure for the two was extended for a period of up to 72 hours.
