“One is the release of the results of the work of the Commission for the Confiscation of Criminal Assets for last year. The results are such that the commission has seized criminal assets worth 3 million leva. The problem is that the budget of this commission is 15 million leva“, said Angelov.
“The other big problem is that they won 3 million leva, but lost 10 times more cases for 10 times more value. That is - they won 3 million leva, but lost 30 million leva. For all these cases that they lost worth 30 million leva, the state has paid very large fees. This is a commission that does not work“, said the journalist.
“The other incident is very mundane at first glance, but it shows that the state not only does not work, but by refusing to work, it can turn victims into criminals. This is an incident from a village that happens every day, everywhere in Bulgaria. A family has a problem with aggressive neighbors, they call 112. There is no reaction from there. The neighbors are becoming more and more aggressive, the man comes out to make a remark to them“, Slavi Angelov also said.
“Young men come out and start beating him severely in front of his wife and child. Then the wife comes in, takes a knife to defend herself. She stabs two of these attackers, calls 112 to admit what happened. They already react from there and this woman is arrested. From a victim she turns into a criminal“, he pointed out.
In his words, our society is “extremely sleepy“ and does not react adequately to everything that is happening.
“10 years ago I wrote an analysis that I titled “How stupid are Bulgarians“. Now I would put the title that they are extremely stupid“, said Slavi Angelov.
