The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office has dropped one of the cases against the wanted former investigator Petyo Petrov, known as Pepi Euroto. The main reason for the decision is that there are no magistrates who claim that Euroto threatened and bribed them, as well as that he made illegal recordings, bTV reported.
In its reasons, the prosecutor's office also says that no witnesses to the relevant crimes have been found, and no recordings made by the former investigator have been established.
The discontinued case began after the media published a photo of the wanted Petyo Petrov and the acting Chief Prosecutor Borislav Sarafov in front of the restaurant “Osemte dvujeta“.
There is another case against Pepi Euroto, related to the “Osemte dvujeta“ case.
On March 11, the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office initiated proceedings in connection with a video distributed on the Internet, which allegedly shows Pepi Petrov-Euroto talking to the Bulgarian European Prosecutor Teodora Georgieva.
The European Public Prosecutor's Office then launched an investigation against Georgieva.
