They want nearly 12 years in prison for the prosecutor's son Vasil Mihaylov - 1

The Sofia District Court will rule on the case against Vasil Mihaylov, son of the prosecutor from Pernik - Biser Mihaylov, on charges of several beatings.

In his pleading, during today's last session, prosecutor Ivanov pointed out that during the investigation and court proceedings, materials were collected that prove both the commission of the acts, as well as their authorship.

The prosecutor told the court the stories of the seven beatings for which Mihaylov is accused. It became clear that most of them were filmed by friends of Vasil Mihaylov, and the videos were distributed on the territory of Pernik. In addition, in all seven cases, Mihaylov was the aggressor. Prosecutor Ivanov added that one of the interrogated testified that he had never seen Mihaylov show aggression, although technical expertise had found dozens of clips on his phone showing the accused attacking people.

Prosecutor Ivanov called on the court to find Mihaylov guilty on all charges and to impose a sentence of a total of 11 years and 11 months of imprisonment under an initial strict regime and to impose a preventive measure of "detention in custody" on him.

According to the private prosecutor, lawyer Kostova, this case is not about a young boy with no life experience, but about a young man in whom values have not been developed, but rather cruel feelings about the world around him. She asked that Mihaylov be given the same sentence as Prosecutor Ivanov.

According to lawyer Nikolay Tsvetkov, Vasil Mihaylov's defense attorney, he should be acquitted on the charge of beating up three people in a Pernik establishment, as they were already heavily intoxicated and it is not clear whether they fell to the ground because of this or because Mihaylov attacked them. In his pleading, lawyer Tsvetkov explained that in most of the cases Mihaylov was defending the honor of his ex-girlfriend Boryana Rangelova and it was in no way hooliganism. He added that the threat to kill Beloslava Yordanova was an interpretation of the prosecutor's office and Mihaylov should be acquitted on this charge as well.

Lawyer Tsvetkov called on the court, if it finds Mihaylov guilty, to impose a suspended sentence on him. However, if the court deems it necessary to be effective, it should be no more than one year and two months, deducting the time he is serving as a suspended sentence on the charge of threatening to kill Boryana Rangelova.

In his last words before the court, Vasil Mihaylov commented on lawyer Kostova's statement that he was a "false hero" and said that he really felt like one, but not because he beat people, but because he defended someone. He said that he had never done anything out of hooligan motives and always had valid reasons.

He asked the judges not to send him back to prison, since after his mother and father separated, he was the only one who took care of her. There he would not have realized anything more than he had realized so far and would only have been looking for schemes to make money for his mother from there.

At the beginning of today's hearing, witness Boryana Yordanova was questioned in court and said that in the case in question, which she was present at, Vasil Mihaylov told her to stop screaming, and she told him to stop. Then Mihaylov walked towards her and said that he would make her shut up. She explained to the court that Mihaylov had swung a knife at her, but she did not believe that this was a threat to kill, but rather intimidation.
