The world-famous soprano Raina Kabaivanska turns 90 today.
She was born in Burgas on December 15, 1934 and is among the most significant soprano voices in the second half of the 20th century.
Since 1961, Kabaivanska has been a soloist at “La Scala“ in Milan and at the Sofia Opera. She is a Cavalier of the Order of Italy, five times the most popular person in Italy and twice Musician of the Year. In Bulgaria, in 1994, she received the Order of the “Stara Planina“, writes dariknews.bg.
Raina Kabaivanska's entire career has been marked by spectacular successes on the world's music stages, which have brought her worldwide fame. She sings at the Metropolitan Opera, the Vienna Opera, the Arena di Verona, the Moscow Bolshoi Theater, London's Covent Garden, and Carnegie Hall.
