Slowly we are entering a place from which we will never come out. We enter despite our reluctance. We enter because of some Euro-Atlantic values, which even the neighborhood dogs know what these values are. We enter because of our subordinate feudal-political class. Or rather a sect.
Until recently, our behavior was safe. Our geopolitical bluster was just stupid and irritating. We acted like a third-grader who stands outside the disco and picks on the thugs because he trusts that the local thugs are in the bushes behind him and will protect him.
But the stupid third grader, busy with his own insignificance, does not notice how the situation in front of the disco has changed. The field is deserted by bystanders and only the really strong remain in the arena. When the really strong come face to face, the battle gets serious and no one wants to mess with the loudmouths. Weaklings are always used to bully other weaklings. In serious war they have no place. They simply liquidate them first so as not to interfere in the fight.
This is the description of the situation we are in here and now. Don't count on a miracle. Forget about our fighting spirit. For the battle at Varbish Pass, for Doiran, Slivnica, Edirne and other glorious victories. We were strong then. So loud they're annoying. We're not now. We have neither a navy nor an air force. I'm afraid to ask how many tanks we have. Uncollectible pieces are left of our army. Our foolish attempts to start a war are no longer irritating, but dangerous. Think about it. Wouldn't it be nice if our powerful allies deployed, say, three air defense systems (do you really hope for more?) and with NATO agility managed to intercept half the missiles fired at us? Or will we be ecstatic that nine out of ten missiles are intercepted? What about those missiles that are not intercepted, what do we do with them? And those who can't stop themselves, what are we going to do with them? Will we then live with percentages or with the memory of our dead relatives? The dead children?
We are becoming more and more like the village idiot who offers himself up for cannon fodder. Without having to. And without any benefit whatsoever. At the same time, as a cashier, it only hurts. As we have started, it is only a matter of time before we feel with our skin the result of our behavior.
I have no idea why we are relying on any geopolitical mercy. Hopefully our idiot status will grant us medical immunity. But in war idiots kill them too. And past the idiots and the others.
