Is this the worthy position of proud Bulgaria, to send a bureaucrat without special professional expertise to the Cosmos of innovation and startups in Europe and now let's all tremble let's unite so that they don't ask him questions and pass "thinly"? Is this the basis for unification and realization of the Bulgarian national interest? Sorry, it doesn't work.
I will ask all the questions, precisely because Mrs. Zaharieva went "officially" through Bulgaria, thanks to the will of people for whom startups and innovations are a concept measured through personal or group kelepir.

In the context of Mario Draghi's report and the position and department for European Commissioner, the good news for Europe is that these many billions that will be distributed will not depend on it, the funds have management structures. In this sense, there is no guarantee that Bulgaria will receive any special privilege, not because we don't deserve it, but because in our country we absorb European funds through the corruption schemes of those who send Zaharieva to the EC.
The reason for my healthy skepticism is not her personality and lack of professional experience and expertise, but the fact that she represents an authority that views the Bulgarian innovation sector and new companies with suspicion and distance. The best evidence is how these complex words startup and innovation sound in Borisov's mouth - like a quote. There is a total disconnection between those who have succeeded in this sector and who can use European funds to turn projects into the development of the country and the power of Borisov and Peevski, whose attitudes and mentality deny the spirit of innovation and competitiveness. Yes, Zaharieva will certainly master the terms and jargon of the sector for the hearing, but she will not master the Way and Spirit of innovative thinking and behavior. And the reason for this is that she was elevated to power and reached this position not because she defeated someone in a fair competition, but because of GERB's power elevator and her obedience.
It is precisely an example of the absence of real competition, without which everything related to words such as artificial intelligence, innovation and development - turns into empty phrases. You look at the debates in America, and that's part of the answer to why America thrives in both innovation and startups and artificial intelligence -- because there's competition there, and those who want high public office have to compete and win open battles. With whom exactly and where is Mrs. Zaharieva competing? And it's not just about her. Do you hope to see a debate between Borisov and Denkov on the fate of Bulgaria, in which area there are real contests, and not distribution of portions and privileges. In this sense, Mrs. Zaharieva was not sent to represent the Bulgarian user of EU funds and policies in this direction, but to represent the class of intermediary politicians who use the Europeans as their own influence. She is a classic bureaucrat, without a vision, without a scale of thinking - neither European, let alone global, nor Bulgarian.
It is high time for Bulgaria to raise a quality person - who knows and can. There are so many who, however, will never be raised by Borisov and Peevski - firstly, because they do not know them and secondly, because they cannot be personally devoted. And if we know the department from now on, we can actually send the best one who can do both European and Bulgarian work well.
Otherwise there will be another faceless bureaucrat for another 5 years - another 5 of the missed opportunities and timelessness we have been living in for years.
