The large-scale defense plan for Europe may also have an invaluable good effect for Bulgaria - our oligarchy will fall in love with Europe again. Especially if the strict anti-corruption rules are relaxed, which GERB failed to overcome and froze 10 billion leva under the Defense Budget. In fact, this was Bulgaria's first and only European initiative in the new geopolitical environment - to absorb the funds under the Defense Budget that are due under the rules without… rules.
In reality, this is one of the quintessential reasons why almost our entire elite loves Trump so much. Not only are they negotiating with the US about large infrastructure projects, but they are negotiating under Trump's new rules, who repealed the anti-corruption law for American companies abroad because it made them… uncompetitive. How can you not become a Trumpist, since he speaks the only known business language of our oligarchy - Russian.
Think about it:
- Peevski has already been expelled from Europe and awarded the Magnitsky by Great Britain;
- Borisov is in a Trumpist period without a pronounced pro-European position and maintains some connection with Europe only through his European Commissioner and to some extent Zhelyazkov (this is how he understands the political hedging of his security).
- Radev from morning to night irradiates us with anti-European propaganda and recognizes only Orban as a friend in Europe;
- ITN, BSP and Vazrazhdane are basically anti-European parties in essence, wondering whether Putin or Trump is a more inspiring model at the moment.
This leaves the large European niche only for PP-DB - as long as they manage to take advantage from it.
Now is the time
- to show the Bulgarians with facts, words, but most of all emotional messages how much Bulgaria has gained from EU membership. And how much it could have, but failed to gain because of the pro-Russian, now Trumpist establishment in our country;
- to declare itself in Europe as its face in Bulgaria not as funds, but as values; to find political support from Macron (Renew Europe) through the PP and from the new German Chancellor Merz (EPP) through the DB;
- to attract all experts, opinion leaders, the intellectual elite who understand the dramatic difference between the interests of the people and the oligarchy and have the dignity not to serve it.
- to build a strong and united coalition with candidates for prime minister and president and through a large-scale campaign and strong structures to demand from the Bulgarians the political power for their personal and national security in Europe, with Europe and through Europe.
As long as they are at the height of the historical moment. Instead of in the depths of the leadership ego, which wants “to be a little like us, but ours”.
