Gabriel Bortoletto, who will race for Sauber, will use the No. 5 of Nigel Mansell and Vettel, and Jack Doohan with Alpine is betting on the No. 7, which became legendary thanks to Raikkonen, reports sportal.bg.
The racing number in Formula 1 becomes free if it is not used two years after its last use. Vettel retired at the end of 2022, and Raikkonen a year earlier.
Duane wanted to drive the No. 12, but it was already reserved by another rookie - Andrea Kimi Antonelli from Mercedes, who chose it because his idol Ayrton Senna competes with that number.
