Crystal Palace defeated Aston Villa and reached the Football Association Cup final for only the third time in their history. Two goals from Ismaila Sarr and another from Eberechi Eze gave the team a 3-0 victory at "Wembley", BTA reported.
Palace fans, dreaming of a first major trophy in the 119-year history of the south London club, supported the players from the first minute and were rewarded for it.
English striker Eze put Palace ahead in the 31st minute with a precise right-footed shot from the edge of the penalty area.
Tyrick Mitchell missed a magnificent opportunity to make it 2-0 just before the break, and Jean-Philippe Mateta missed a penalty shortly after the restart.
But Aston Villa failed to keep Ismaila Sarr out, who fired a long, low shot past Emiliano Martinez shortly before the end of the match to give his team the lead. Sarr then broke free in stoppage time to make it 3-0.
Crystal Palace will play either Manchester City or Nottingham Forest in the final, who face each other at Wembley on Sunday.
