Harley-Davidson has already introduced most of its 2025 lineup, but left one model to maintain the intrigue - the Fat Boy Grey Ghost. Initially, experts assumed that the new product would be related to the original 1990 Fat Boy, as the documents contain the code "FLSTFI", which is a reference to the first Fat Boy FLSTF.
But new data from European homologation documents in Germany reveals otherwise - the official name of the model is Grey Ghost (in the US, the spelling "Gray" is traditionally used, but the original 1990 Fat Boy is known as "Grey Ghost" with the letter "E").
The specifications of the new Fat Boy Gray Ghost do not differ significantly from the standard Fat Boy with the Milwaukee-Eight 117 Custom engine. The only noticeable change is a slight drop in peak power: 100 hp. instead of 103 hp The engine itself is expected to remain the same, although it may receive a round air intake, which is another nod to the original version.
The 1990 Fat Boy model became legendary for its unique style. It was released in a silver-gray color with yellow accents and polished wheels. This color scheme was used only in the first year of production, making it one of the rarest and most desirable among collectors. Harley-Davidson will likely maintain this aesthetic for the 2025 Fat Boy Grey Ghost, adding modern technology but retaining elements of the classic design.
The company has a tradition of delaying the announcement of models from the Icons collection, releasing them a few months after the main line. So the official debut of the Fat Boy Grey Ghost is not expected before March or April 2025. What is most curious, however, is that this model will also be sold in Europe.
