Dimitar Gardev to FACT: The process of the accession of the Republic of North Macedonia to the EU is one-sided (VIDEO)

The demands that are set for the Republic of North Macedonia to be accepted into the European Union are one-sided. This must be said clearly and known. In Warsaw, there was a recent meeting of the presidents of the parliaments in the EU and the countries that are candidates for membership. There were representatives of the Republic of North Macedonia, Turkey, etc. And it was clearly stated there what needs to be done, that the Republic of North Macedonia has accepted the accession and they must be implemented. That is why it is said that the legislation of the country that is applying must be synchronized with the European one. He announced this to Lili Marinkova in the studio “FACT“ and the show “Conversation“ international analyst Dimitar Gardev, who is the chairman of the parliamentary committee on EU affairs and control of EU funds.

„This means that the Republic of North Macedonia must fulfill these 32 points that are written in the agreement at the EU level. After the Mickoski government came, we heard from him how he will negotiate, how he will change clauses, how he will take responsibility that things that are written and must be fulfilled, he will do them after his country becomes a member of the EU, etc. This cannot happen, because here we are talking about already adopted rules. The process of accession of the Republic of North Macedonia to the EU is one-sided“, added the guest.

„Moreover, a country that wants to become a member of the EU, it is most logical to have good relations with its neighbors. When it becomes a member of the EU, this means that the country opens its borders, labor market, economy, etc. And in this sense, it is important for the countries to have good-neighborly treaties and to abide by them. This is the most logical thing, but we do not see this being done by North Macedonia“, Dimitar Gardev also shared.

„At the meeting in Warsaw, the Greeks reacted very sharply, because again the Republic of North Macedonia was not listed properly, but only North Macedonia. There are many things that need to be done by the Republic of North Macedonia, but are not being done“, Gardev also revealed.
