Yemen's Houthis launched a missile attack on the American aircraft carrier "Eisenhower" in the Red Sea, reports "Reuters".
Rebel military spokesman Yahya Sari said the attack was in response to US and British strikes on Yemen.
In six strikes on Washington and London, 16 people were killed and 41, including civilians, were injured.
The attacks against Hodeidah province were carried out against the port of Salif, a radio building in the Al-Hok district, the Ghalifa camp and two houses.
The US and British militaries said they struck Houthi targets in Yemen yesterday to deter the militants from further disrupting shipping in the Red Sea.
US Central Command said US and British forces struck 13 targets in rebel-held areas of Yemen.
The British Ministry of Defense specified that the joint operation was aimed at three locations in the port city of Hodeidah, where, according to it, drones and surface-to-air weapons were deployed.
"As always, the greatest care was taken in planning the strikes to minimize any risk to civilians or non-military infrastructure," the British Ministry of Defense said.
"Having the strikes in the dark hours should also further mitigate any such risks.
Houthi spokesman Mohammed Abdelsalam said the strikes were a "brutal aggression" against Yemen as punishment for its support for Gaza.
Iran, an ally of the Houthis, condemned the strikes as "violations of Yemen's sovereignty and territorial integrity, international law and human rights.
"The governments of the aggressors, the United States and Great Britain, are responsible for the consequences of these crimes against the Yemeni people,", emphasized the spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanaani.
Yemen rebels control much of Yemen and say they are acting in solidarity with the Palestinians, while Israel and "Hamas" waging war in Gaza. Since November, they have repeatedly carried out drone and missile strikes in the Red Sea, the Bab el Mandeb Strait and the Gulf of Aden.
This forced a number of commercial carriers to divert their ships to other routes and raised fears that the war between Israel and "Hamas" could spread and destabilize the Middle East.
