According to the former Minister of Defense and head of the "Security and Defense Management Center" to BAS - prof. Todor Tagarev, there is almost no chance that Russian President Vladimir Putin will use nuclear weapons.
Before the BNR, he stated:
"My personal opinion, and this is the opinion of the majority in the expert community, is that Putin will not dare to use nuclear weapons, and it is completely out of the question that he will use nuclear weapons outside of Ukraine. But the probability that he will use them in Ukraine is also negligible, as this will set up those countries that have supported him so far, such as China, not to mention countries such as India, Brazil and others from the so-called Global South.
Lithuanian MEP Rasa Yukniavičene says that the security of the Baltic countries and the eastern flank of the European Union against Russian aggression is an inseparable part of the general security of the Union:
"I have always argued with those who say that only we from the Baltic countries or neighboring countries are in trouble. If we are in trouble, the whole European Union will be in big trouble. This would mean that he would "go away". It is a mistake to think that the security of the Baltic countries is a separate problem from that of the Community".
