At least 13 people were injured in an explosion at a home improvement store in northeastern Romania, reports the "Associated pres". The incident took place in the town of Botoshani, Suceava district, News.bg quoted.
One of the victims is in serious condition and is intubated, and ten others are conscious, but with "various injuries and burns" and they are being given medical assistance, emergency services reported.
Emergency helicopters were alerted and two ambulances and two fire engines were sent to the scene to put out the fire. Meanwhile, a search and rescue mission is underway at the store. It is not clear what caused the explosion nor whether the injured were customers or employees.
Videos released by emergency services showed part of the building's facade destroyed by the blast, with air conditioning units scattered across the shop's forecourt amid a mass of debris.
