Ukraine needs more systems for air defense (air defense) within weeks to be able to carry out repairs on half of its destroyed power infrastructure, Energy Minister German Galushchenko told Reuters.
Russian missile and drone attacks have destroyed 50% of the country's electricity capacity, leading to blackouts, including in Kiev. Galushchenko stressed that without defense systems, repairs would be impossible, as Russia would continue its attacks. He insisted on 7 to 9 systems "Patriot" and within weeks.
Galushchenko also noted that Russian attacks have affected renewable energy sites, including solar plants. His speech was made at a conference in Berlin, where Ukraine is trying to revive Western support.
President Volodymyr Zelensky also attended the conference and spoke to the German parliament, where his speech was boycotted by two parties, including the far-right "Alternative for Germany" (AfD).
Galushchenko warned that European citizens who vote for pro-Russian parties do not understand the threat from Russia. He emphasized that Russia will continue its aggression and called for immediate help for Ukraine.
Galushchenko warned that Russian aggression will not end in Ukraine and "you are next"
