Following Iran's attack on Israel last night, the United States has reinforced its support for its Israeli allies, with US President Joe Biden saying talks are underway on whether and how to responded to the attack.
At the same time, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that he would increase the French military presence in the region as a sign of support for Israel. The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting today, and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has again been adamant that the fire must end.
Israel will respond to this blow as well
There is no prospect of a ceasefire, however - Israel has even announced new strikes in the Middle East, writes ARD. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that "Iran made a big mistake and will pay for it,” and army spokesman Daniel Hagari confirmed that the Israeli air force had suffered no damage.
Israeli army spokesman calls Iran attack "serious” and said it was pushing the Middle East toward escalation. "These events will have consequences," Hagari said. There were no specifics, however, about what the retaliatory strike could be. The American edition "New York Times” cited its sources in the US administration, according to which there is an option for Israel to attack Iran's nuclear facilities. In particular, the target of an attack could be the uranium enrichment facilities in Netenz, which are at the heart of the Iranian program, writes ARD.
Israel continues its attacks in Lebanon
Shortly after Iran's attack, Israel continued shelling Hezbollah positions on the outskirts of the Lebanese capital, Beirut. Lebanon's security forces said the Israeli army carried out two strikes south of Beirut. The news agencies "France Press” and Reuters reported explosions in the area.
Recently the Israeli army called on the population "immediately" to leave two buildings in a southern suburb of Beirut for his own safety and to avoid the entire area within a radius of 500 meters, ARD recalled.
"Our actions are complete"
Iran has threatened Israel with further violence if the Israeli military responds to the rocket attack. "In this case, our response will be stronger and more decisive,", Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi wrote on Platform X. "Our actions are complete, unless the Israeli regime decides to call for further retaliation. ”
Earlier this evening, we exercised self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter, targeting solely military & security sites in charge of genocide in #Gaza and #Lebanon.

Iran has "exercised tremendous restraint for nearly two months to create a space for a ceasefire in Gaza,”, Aragchi continued in his post. Israel's supporters now have a greater responsibility to "rein in the warmongers in Tel Aviv instead of participating in their madness.
