The Republic of Korea evacuated 97 people - its citizens and their families - from Lebanon to context of rising tensions in the Middle East, the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
Agency Yonhap indicates that they are 96 citizens of the Republic of Korea and one Lebanese. On October 2, South Korean President Yun Seok-yeol ordered the provision of a military transport plane to evacuate compatriots from Middle Eastern countries affected by the latest round of rising tensions.
It was previously reported that 480 South Koreans live in Israel, approximately 130 in Lebanon and 110 in Iran.
