EU Special Envoy for the dialogue Belgrade – Pristina, Miroslav Lajcak, will organize a meeting with the chief negotiators of Serbia and Kosovo to normalize relations between the two countries on October 24 in Brussels, Kosovo Radio and Television reported, citing sources from the EU familiar with the matter, quoted by BTA.< /strong>
According to EU sources, the purpose of the meeting between Lajcak, Serbian negotiator Petar Petkovic and Kosovo representative Besnik Bislimi is to discuss ways to advance the dialogue, with a special emphasis on the need to implement the agreement on the path to normalization of relations between Serbia and Kosovo.
Although the invitation has been sent to the parties and it appears that they have confirmed their presence, the meeting between Bislimi and Petkovic remains uncertain, notes Kosovo Radio and Television.
The last meeting at the level of chief negotiators took place on September 17 in Brussels, when Bislimi and Petkovic met separately with Lajcak, but did not hold a trilateral meeting.
Serbia and the Kosovo Serbs do not recognize the independence of Kosovo declared in 2008. Belgrade and Pristina are conducting a dialogue to normalize their relations under the auspices of the EU.
