The fire continues at the BAE Systems (BAE Systems) shipyard in Barrow-in-Furness, north-west England, which is building the next generation of British nuclear submarines , but there is no nuclear risk from the incident, police said, Reuters reported.
The Cumbria statement said two people were taken to hospital after suffering suspected smoke inhalation and that no one else was injured.
Police said everyone else was evacuated from the BAI Systems site.
The shipyard in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, produces submarines "Astute" (Astute) and "Dreadnought" (Dreadnought) for the Royal Navy, shows information on the BAI website.
The incident was reported shortly after midnight today.
BI Systems has not yet responded to Reuters' request for comment.
Police have advised those living near the shipyard to stay indoors.
