France will continue to provide military support to Ukraine even if Donald Trump is elected US president and fulfills his promise of a quick end to the war in Ukraine. This was stated by the French Minister of Defense Sebastien Lecorneu in an interview with "Le Journal du Dimanche", quoted by News.bg.
"Military support is essential, and even after the end of the war we will have to continue to strengthen the Ukrainian army," emphasized Lecornue.
He also noted that the Ukrainian military training program, under which 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers will undergo training under French military leadership, will continue.
Lecornu also announced that he had signed a decision on a new transfer of about ten SCALP missiles to Ukraine. In the summer, it became clear that France had decided to provide the Ukrainian armed forces with Mirage 2000-5 fighters equipped with SCALP cruise missiles.
