International humanitarian organizations said Israel had failed to comply with a series of US demands aimed at easing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza by a deadline on Tuesday, reports "Reuters", quoted by News .bg.

The United States sent a letter to Israel on October 13 stating that steps must be taken to improve the aid situation within 30 days. If this is not done, Israel could face potential restrictions on US military aid.

„Not only has Israel failed to meet US criteria, it has also taken actions that have dramatically worsened the situation on the ground, particularly in northern Gaza,” said a 19-page report prepared by eight humanitarian organizations, among which Oxfam, Save the Children and the Norwegian Refugee Council.

Since the beginning of the conflict, Israeli forces have pushed deeper and deeper into northern Gaza, besieging hospitals and shelters, creating new waves of displaced persons. The operation, according to the Israeli army, is aimed at preventing the regrouping of the fighters of "Hamas" in the region.

On Friday, global food security experts issued a rare warning of impending famine in parts of northern Gaza unless immediate measures are taken to alleviate the situation.

However, Israel said on Monday that it had complied with most of the US demands, with some issues still being discussed related to security concerns. An Israeli official said steps had been taken to open a new crossing into Gaza and that hundreds of food and water packages had been sent to parts of northern Gaza as part of a coordinated operation.

Washington has not yet commented on whether the US conditions have been met. The State Department said last week that Israel has taken some steps to increase humanitarian access to Gaza, but so far has failed to significantly change the humanitarian situation.
