Moldovan President Maya Sandu condemned today the Russian attacks against the energy infrastructure in Ukraine, the Moldavian news agency MOLDPRESS reported, quoted by BTA.

In a post on the social network “X“ she expressed her support for her neighboring country. “I categorically condemn Russia's massive air attacks against Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Using winter as a weapon to freeze a people into submission is a cruel and unacceptable act. "Moldova is with Ukraine," Sandu wrote.

This morning and last night, the Ukrainian capital and other cities in the country were rocked by explosions as a result of a massive rocket attack. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the Russian military used about 120 missiles and 90 drones for the strikes.

The authorities in Ukraine announced that they had preemptively cut off the electricity supply in several areas, including in Kyiv. In a message published this morning, the Moldovan energy company “Moldelectrica“ said that no Moldovan users were affected by the attacks against Ukraine.
