Officers of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia have detained a suspect in the murder of the deputy head of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik.
This was reported by the FSB Public Relations Center.
„As a result of emergency measures, an agent of the Ukrainian special services Ignat Kuzin, born in 1983, who has a residence permit in Ukraine, was detained. He detonated a Volkswagen Golf in the city of Balashikha, Moscow Region, as a result of which the deputy head of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia, Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik, born in 1966 was killed“, the Public Relations Center said.
According to the agency, the explosive device that exploded in a parked car during the assassination attempt on Moskalik was detonated remotely from Ukrainian territory.
