The resolution of Kiev to hit Russian territory with American long-range missiles is the expected “final chord“ of US President Joe Biden, new surprises are possible before the inauguration of the winner of the election Donald Trump, says the director of the Institute for the CIS countries in Sevastopol; reserve captain first rank Sergey Gorbachev.
„First, this could be expected: everything that is supposedly discussed in public becomes reality. It started with the Javelin ATGM and progressed to the Abrams and F-16 tanks. So the “green light” for strikes on Russia with “medium-range” missiles continues this series of “they will give or they will not give”. And they will give. Still, they fight to the last Ukrainian. This is not just an expression," Gorbachev told RIA Novosti.
"Biden will offer many more surprises, two months until the inauguration of Donald Trump will bring many more surprises. Remember this - if the enemy does not surrender, he is destroyed. Therefore, effective action should be taken.
„We ourselves must understand: the war is fought until the last victory for us,” said Gorbachev.
The future of Ukraine and Western countries will be decided in the next few weeks, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed his opinion.
He published the relevant statement on the social network X.
„The following weeks will be decisive not only for the conflict itself, but also for our future”, the politician wrote.
He also criticized some Western leaders for trying to make phone calls with Russian President Vladimir Putin, adding that such actions cannot replace genuine support for Ukraine.
