They broke up a criminal network with Bulgarian beggars in Athens, Nova TV reports. Four of the leaders of the gang in question were arrested. Two people are still being sought. The criminal scheme consisted of looking for vulnerable people, most often people with disabilities, who were promised legal work in Greece. They transported the people to the Greek capital, where they were forced to beg.
There were also those who did not have disabilities, but were forced to simulate. They were accommodated in housing with absolutely no basic living conditions.
