Lipavski will also discuss how best to target international aid in the coming months, focusing on the effectiveness of the support provided.

Main topics of the visit

In a post on the social network “X“ Minister Lipavski said that his visit aims to evaluate on the spot:

  • How Ukraine copes with the bombings and the consequences of the war.
  • What projects implemented with the participation of the Czech Republic are working in the country.
  • How to improve the targeting of international aid to the needs of Ukraine in the coming months.

The stated position on nuclear threats

Also, after the Kremlin updated its doctrine on the use of nuclear weapons, Jan Lipavsky stressed that these threats should not be given too much attention, but instead we should focus on real support for Ukraine. He stated that the key at this stage is not only to respond to threats, but also to continue with concrete actions to help the country.

„I arrived in Kyiv this morning. I am interested in how the Ukrainians are dealing with the bombing, how Czech projects are working on the ground, and how we can better target international aid in the coming months. I will discuss all of this here.“
